When you plug in at home, evPulse identifies your current and target battery level. Based on your daily mileage needs and charging speed, our algorithms determine when the charging should begin such that your target battery level is reached ahead of the ‘Charge Departure Time’ you’ve set in your evPulse dashboard settings.
evPulse initially sets a basic off-peak Tesla schedule that starts at midnight. Within a few minutes of plugging in at home, evPulse will generate an optimized schedule. You’ll see the Tesla app’s ‘Schedule’ ‘Start Charging at’ time change to a time that has been optimized for you, based on your particular needs, your energy rates, and broader grid circumstances.
After evPulse has set an optimized schedule, editing the ‘Start Charging At’ or ‘Depart By’ settings in the Tesla app directly will temporarily disable Automatic Charging for your active or next upcoming charging session. Your changes will be respected for that session. After that, the basic midnight schedule is restored.
You can always override the schedule by clicking “Charge Now” in the Tesla app or console, or reply ‘charge now’ to our Scheduled Charge text.
